01 - Protecting Property Values
The recently proposed racetrack/gaming facility would negatively impact property values by 7 to 10%. Heise invited the racetrack to Plymouth Township well before residents became aware via the media.
02 - Continuing Decades-long Practice of Low Property Taxes
Heise implemented the largest property tax increase in the past decade, added a phantom tax collection fee, has pushed several other unsuccessful attempts which would increase taxes, and is considering multiple initiatives which will increase taxes if passed. He has stated that we don't pay enough in taxes.
03 - Demonstrating Financial Responsibility, Analytical Rigor and Thriftiness
Heise pursues projects costing millions of taxpayer dollars with minimal analytical rigor. Even if acceptable, projects need to be implemented frugally. Due to Heise, our Township is currently being sued for $10 million by Northville Downs.
04 - No Secrets - Assuring Widespread Awareness of and Opportunity for Input on Township Initiatives
Heise only actively discloses proposed initiatives with his financial contributors. Methods need to be pursued where efforts are communicated broadly in order to drive awareness and engagement across a broad section of the community. No back room deals. Transparent and appropriate appointments. No unnecessary commissions.
05 - Safety/Avoidance of the Introduction of Sources of Crime Into the Township
Sources of crime in neighboring communities need to be acknowledged and avoided (e.g., Meijer). Heise overruled his own Planning Commission and told Meijer to sue the Township to get the now-approved location off of 5 Mile.
06 - Avoidance of Traffic Congestion in Plymouth Township
Avoid projects creating traffic congestion. Heise initiatives have created massive truck gridlock on the east and west sides of the Township.
07 - Maintaining Current Township Ambience - Don't Make the Township a Social Engineering Project for Outsiders
We’re not a pet project for consultants. Residents are not listed as stakeholders in the Heise-approved Public Participation Plan. Broad-based resident input on what they want should be obtained before pursuing projects to be politically correct. Plymouth Township is chosen by residents because of its family, friendly, small town feel.
08 - Putting the Needs of the Township's 28,000 Residents before those of a Handful of Wealthy Individuals and Companies. Plymouth Township should not be up for sale.
09 - Respectful, Honest, Civil Discourse with the Township's 28,000 Residents Across all Media - Meetings, On-Line and in Print
Heise does not engage in polite discourse nor respectful interactions with residents. He also keeps the truth from residents and is unable to engage in honest dialogue on actual issues.
